For the 19 Juventus players who have made the trip to Spain less than 24 hours ago, the task is simple. Get a positive result in Spain, head into the Champions League Round of 16 draw next week knowing that you will be facing a team that finished in second place in their group rather than a European giant.
It's that simple for Juventus, who enter tonight's group stage finale against Sevilla two points ahead of Manchester City in the standings.
Juventus need just a point to finish atop the group. That's what we know. That's what we've known for a few weeks now. Yes, the same Juventus squad, regardless of all the injuries currently populating the roster, that is playing its best football of the season as they head from the chilling temperatures of Turin to the nice and warm climate of Seville.
Sevilla, obviously, only have one thing to play for — a spot in the Europa League Round of 32. They need help for that to happen considering the fact that they're sitting bottom of the group and need Manchester City to beat Borussia Monchengladbach. That's not exactly the easiest thing to have happen, especially the way Juventus is playing its football these days.
Group D is far from decided — no matter if it's who's first, who's second and who's off to the Europa League. Ah, what a fun final day of the group stage if will be. Hopefully fun. At least it's hopefully fun for Juventus, that is.
