Even as the early-season struggles went on during the September and October months, Juventus was able to find a way to get consistent points in the Champions League. The overall performance might not have always been pretty, but when it was all said and done, picking up points was happening. (That's the name of the game, right?)
Juventus now faces the team they beat the first time out in the group stage, Manchester City. One of those teams used to be in first play from the opening day of action, one of them are now atop the table. It's pretty easy to figure out who is who based on what happened the last time these two teams stepped on the field in the group stage. And thanks to Man City's last-minute win over Sevilla a few weeks ago.
There's plenty on the line tonight at Juventus Stadium. And there's plenty of things to wonder about entering the showdown between two of the big boys in European football.
What kind of formation does Max Allegri go with thanks to all the injuries?
What, exactly, is Man City's lineup going to look like since they have so many regular starters back home in England with their own respective injuries?
Can Juventus take advantage of its opposition being the walking wounded and get three points at home?
City might not be playing well, but they're still a dangerous team. Need to look no further than at all that attacking talent that's still available for selection for manager Manuel Pellegrini.
So, what you say, guys? You in the mood to win your latest big game? Big European nights are what this club is all about, after all. (And winning lots of Serie A titles, too.)
