We're officially in the month that sees Juventus open their season. The unfortunate thing is, that's still nearly four weeks away. And because of that, Juve are heading out on tour. It's a little later than last year's trip which saw them play amazing* football during their three-game stint in the United States.
This year, though, Juve are heading out to Indonesia, Singapore and Australia. Maybe even get some better results, too. We can only hope, right?
And with that comes the traveling squad. Thanks to Juventus' website, we know who the heck is going to be there.
The full travelling party is as follows:
Goalkeepers:
Buffon, Storari, Rubinho, Audero
Defenders:
Bonucci, Motta, Caceres, Chiellini, Ogbonna, Marrone, Blanco
Midfielders:
Lichtsteiner, Romulo, Pirlo, Marchisio, Vidal, Padoin, Pogba, Pereyra, Evra, Asamoah, Pepe, Vitale
Strikers:
Llorente, Tevez, Giovinco, Coman, Buenacasa
OH MY GOD WHAT IS ARTURO VIDAL DOING THERE ISN'T HE SUPPOSED TO BE IN MANCHESTER FOR HIS MEDICAL EXAMS????
Nah. Just ... nah.
All the names you'd expect to be there are there. The only notable absences are the injured players, defender Andrea Barzagli and newly-acquired striker Álvaro Morata. And because of that, a select few of youth team products will be along for the two-week trip, including the recently-signed Carlos Blanco Moreno. Heck, there's even a spot on the Asia-Pacific tour roster for Marco Motta, who somehow has gotten to travel all around the world the past two summers because nobody wants to sign him.
(You're welcome for everything, Marco. Enjoy all the passport stamps.)
In case you forgot, here's Juve's game schedule while in Asia and Australia:
6 August Juventus v ISL Stars at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, Kick-off 15.00 (CET)
10 August Juventus v A-League All-Stars at ANZ Stadium, Kick-off 11.30 (CET)
16 August Juventus v Singapore All-Stars at New Singapore National Stadium, Kick-off 12.00 (CET)
Sounds fun. Let's go!
