Radamel Falcao to Juventus rumors pop up again, logic continues to be defied

Michael Regan

It's one of those things where you just want to say to yourself, "Ehhhh, that's just the Gazzetta being the Gazzetta." I mean, how many times have they run out stories about Arturo Vidal leaving for Manchester United this summer? And, what ya know, Arturo Vidal is still around as we enter late August.

But when a fairly reliable Italian journalist for said publication throws it out there...

...all kinds of things that make me think "This is just a bunch of total crap!" go somewhat out the window.

Let me repeat: Somewhat out the window. Not completely out the window, but somewhat out the window. Like a little bit out the window. For now. Maybe changing in a few days from now. Stay tuned!

But with these sudden rumors linking Juve with one of the best strikers in the world, it's impossible to forget that Falcao is on absolutely insane wages at Monaco. Even if he were to cut his salary in half like the GdS has thrown out there, Falcao would still be Juventus' highest paid player. By a far margin, too.

It's those kinds of things that make it so hard to believe. Especially for a club like Juventus that is not exactly letting the cash fly around like a bunch of madmen this summer.

Hey, maybe Juventus are trying to sign Falcao on loan. Maybe they've called Monaco just to gauge the interest of doing something just in case Falcao did want to leave for some odd reason. I don't know. I wouldn't put it past the Juve management to at least check in on things. But I'm not sitting next to Beppe Marotta and Fabio Paratici as they discuss things of transfer market importance. I'm sure I'd have a few questions if I was in the Turin area and able to sit next to two of the men who make Juventus-related decisions.

Somebody just make it the month of September already. Sometimes these rumors are too good to be true.
