Juventus announce traveling squad, starting lineup for friendly vs. Cesena

Claudio Villa

Juventus are getting closer and closer to hoping on a plane and beginning their preseason tour through Indonesia and Australia. But before they leave, they're heading to Cesena for a Wednesday night friendly against one of the teams they will be facing during the Serie A season.

Basically, tomorrow night is our first legit chance to see what kind of work Max Allegri has done since taking over for Antonio Conte as Juventus' manager. What fun there could be!

The full 25-man traveling squad, courtesy of Juventus' official website:

The full traveling party for the 20.45 CET kick-off is as follows:

Goalkeepers:
Audero, Rubinho, Storari

Defenders:
Bonucci, Caceres, Chiellini, Lichtsteiner, Motta, Ogbonna, Sorensen

Midfielders:
Asamoah, Isla, Marchisio, Marrone, Padoin, Pepe, Pereyra, Pirlo, Spinazzola, Vitale

Strikers:
Buenacasa, Coman, Donis, Giovinco, Llorente

And just for an added bonus, Mad Max has told us the starting lineup 24 hours before the game has actually begun. What a guy, I tell ya!

Storari; Sorensen, Bonucci, Chiellini; Lichtsteiner, Padoin, Pirlo, Pereyra, Motta; Giovinco, Llorente

Don't tell anybody, but that sure does look like a 3-5-2 formation to me. And a lineup with both Simone Padoin AND Marco Motta? Wonderful.

There are obviously the notable omissions from the traveling squad. For one, Carlos Tévez, who had one hell of a Tuesday while hearing about family-related things back home in Argentina and was granted a leave of absence by the club. Arturo Vidal has also not been included in the match day squad, a clear sign he is going to Manchester United in the morning. (Not really.) Also no trip for Gigi Buffon, who just returned from holiday a few days earlier.

Kickoff from Emilia-Romagna is scheduled for 8:45 p.m. Italian time on Wednesday night. Feel free to do your own time conversions, it's the same time as a Saturday or Sunday night kickoff during the regular Serie A season. (There will be a game time thread up, so feel free to come on by and yell obscenities at Max Allegri if need be.)
