SB Nation's 2014 World Cup Final Preview

Paul Pogba getting attention for doing awesome things isn't exactly breaking news on this part of the internet. He has won individual awards before. He has helped Juventus and French youth teams win titles before. This is the life Pogba lives — one of pure awesomeness, crazy hairstyles and wonder goals that make your jaw drop with the utmost of ease.

What's new to us around here: Paul Pogba being nominated for an award at the World Cup.

Don't blame him, of course, seeing as this is the first time he's played in the biggest tournament the world gets to watch every four years.

Pogba has been one of three players nominated for the Young Player Award at the 2014 World Cup, joining France teammate and Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane and Memphis Depay from the Netherlands and PSV Eindhoven on the shortlist for the honor. The award, voted on by FIFA's Technical Study Group (TSG), will be released after the tournament comes to an end this Sunday.

This is what they said about Pogba on the FIFA website:

Although he is still only 21 years of age, Paul Pogba is already one of France's key players. The Juventus star gained his first taste of international success last year at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Turkey, where his skills and subtlety of touch helped Les Bleuets to emerge victorious from the competition and enabled him to earn the adidas Golden Ball award. In Brazil, the energetic midfielder showed the full array of his talents, including an opening goal in Les Bleus' Round-of-16 clash with Nigeria. Having firmly established himself in the side, Pogba is likely to be one of the first names on France's teamsheet for many years to come.

Vote for Pogba, people. Do what you do crunching numbers, TSG folks. Sorry Raphael, you've already got that fancy Champions League trophy to look at. Let Paul have some time in the limelight!

This is much better than hearing about how Pogba is signing with Chelsea for a bazillion dollars, right? I mean, can't a guy just enjoy a vacation this time of year? He's been rather busy these last couple of years. Let Pogba enjoy his vacay. And win FIFA awards. That would be cool, too.
