It seems as though Arturo Vidal will have some competition for the 'King' nickname next season.
Based on the word of a number of media outlets in Italy on Saturday, Juventus have reportedly signed 18-year-old midfielder Kingsley Coman from French champions Paris Saint-Germain. Coman — who, at the age of 16, became the youngest player ever at the club to make his debut — has been out of a contract since the season ended and will arrive on a free transfer whenever he does sign his contract with Juventus.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Juventus fought off challenges from Serie A rival Roma and a handful of English clubs to secure the services of Coman, who turned 18 years old on June 13.
You might be asking yourself a question like "Well, who exactly is Kingsley Coman?" You aren't alone.
This is what we do know: He's not the new Paul Pogba. Sorry to disappoint, but there's only one Paul Pogba and that's the one currently wearing the No. 19 France jersey at the World Cup right now. They might both be French and have extravagant hairstyles from time to time, but Coman is not the same kind of player as Pogba. Coman is an attacking midfielder who is capable of playing on the wing as well. Some say he can play in the hole behind the strikers, so we'll just say that he's got a little bit of versatility in his game to go with his creative flair.
Now, here, go watch this video. I especially like the run he makes around the 43-second mark where it looks like he gets shot out of a cannon and goes from one end of the field to the other in about two seconds flat. Zoom, zoom.
