Manolo Gabbiadini's next club is still to be determined

Valerio Pennicino

While a lot of the attention has been sent in the direction of a certain 19-year-old by the name of Domenico Berardi — and rightfully so — there's another young Italian striker who has been linked with a move back to the club that co-owns his contract. That young fella would be Manolo Gabbiadini, who had a pretty solid campaign with Sampdoria this past season, scoring eight goals and dishing out four assists in 34 appearances (32 starts).

But what is in the works for Gabbiadini come next season? Well, that's still in the works, according to what his agent came out and said on Sunday.

Speaking to Tuttojuve.com, the 22-year-old's representative revealed that talks between(Juventus and Sampdoria) regarding the player's next move are still yet to talk place.

"At the moment we are waiting to see what comes of the talks between the two clubs," Silvio Pagliari said. "We have a good relationship with both of them.

"We will definitely reach an agreement that will satisfy all parties. We hope we can manage to find the best possible solution for the boy, but we hope it also satisfies both Juve and Samp.

"We'll wait and see what comes of the talks between the two sets of directors and then we will see what happens.

"At the moment it is premature to talk about it. Everything will definitely be decided by the end of June."

With Berardi saying he will be staying at Sassuolo for another season, does that improve the chances of Gabbiadini playing with Juventus next season? I would have to think it does. The "Is he ready for Juve or not?" discussions about Berardi are obviously applicable to Gabbiadini as well.

While he didn't exactly finish the season strong scoring-wise — he failed to reach the back of the net in his final nine Serie A appearances — it should discredit the overall year he had. Was it a headline-grabber like Berardi's? No, not even close. But Gabbiadini has been solid for a couple years now as he gains experience in Serie A.

And that might his time has come to venture to Turin as something other than a visiting player. But, as his agent said, there might be a little bit of a waiting game. So if you had Gabbiadini-to-Juve happening before the month of May ends, you might have to rethink your bet.
