Game Time Thread: Juventus vs. Genoa

Valerio Pennicino

Finally, somebody other than Fiorentina!

Right, folks?

Harrumph, harrumph, harrumph!

Juventus travel to the Luigi Ferraris for the sole purpose of playing somebody other than Fiorentina. Okay, maybe there's something more to it than it, but sometimes that's what it seems like. Juventus have had a whole week full of Fiorentina filling their minds. And now, they have to think about a Genoa squad that isn't so easy to beat this time around compared to five months ago in October.

You never know, a break from Fiorentina might be the thing they need.

But no matter who they are facing, there's clearly going to be some things to improve upon. Just look at Juve's last two seconds halves against Fiorentina — not very good. Luckily for them, only one of those 1-0 leads at Juventus Stadium were blown. Unluckily for them, the 1-0 lead they did cough up came in the competition where away goals actually count for something.

Dammit. Stupid, stupid details.

Oh, well. We'll see if the disappointment that came out of Thursday's 1-1 draw to Fiorentina carries over to today's tilt with Genoa. If Juventus want to play like a bunch of angry fellas and take the frustration out on their opponent today, then that would be cool with me. And you, too, I assume.

Starting lineups for both teams will be posted RIGHT HERE when they become available. No time for Simone Padoin jokes this time. I've got to find a way to dispose of the Gomez Button before Thursday.
