I don't like to joke about players getting injured at all. And this is not one of those times. Injuries are stupid. Really, really stupid. It's just that playing some Queen right now seems rather appropriate considering all the injuries this current Juventus squad has dealt with in the first two months of the 2014-15 season.
This is why Queen is possibly blasting on your computer's speakers. From juventus.com:
Patrice Evra was absent from the group following the injury he sustained late last week. The Frenchman underwent medical tests earlier today which revealed a strain of the biceps femoris muscle in his left thigh, and he is estimated to return to action in 30 days.
The 33-year-old Evra was not included in the Juventus squad that beat Palermo 2-0 on Sunday after he originally injured himself in training on Friday. Max Allegri said a day later at his pre-match press conference that the injury the a wrench in his plans, meaning Evra might have been starting at left wingback instead of Kwadwo Asamoah. Seeing how Asamoah played against Palmero, I think that might have turned out to be a blessing in disguise.
But now Asamoah will be playing a lot more frequently with Evra out the next month.
He joins a lengthy list of players — especially in defense — who have missed some kind of time this season due to injury. Some more than others, but you know what I mean. Evra joins Andrea Barzagli, Martín Cáceres and Luca Marrone — who Allegri expects back somewhat soon — on the injured defenders list.
Injuries are stupid, no matter who gets hurt. That's something we can agree on.
