Southampton's Dani Osvaldo set to take Juventus medical on Friday

Clive Rose

Why screw around with any kind of funny or interesting lede to begin this poast? You don't want comedy, you want transfer news! Why? Because it's almost the end of January! Let's get right to the details, courtesy of Sky Sports Italia transfer writer Gianluca Di Marzio. You might have heard of him. He knows a thing or two.

Pablo Daniel Osvaldo is ready to return to Italy. Antonio Conte's Juventus is waiting for him. A few minutes ago the bianconeri exchange documents with Southampton. The deal was reached, Osvaldo will leave for Italy tomorrow morning to take his medical. He is ready to start over in Serie A after a difficult period at Southampton.

More confirmation of a Friday medical for Osvaldo? Yeah, more confirmation.

When we see reports involving the words 'deal was reached' or something along those lines, then something has to be going down in the relatively near future. And that seems to be the case with Osvaldo packing his bags and moving to Juventus. The deal has gone from rumors to basically becoming an actuality in a matter of a couple days. Maybe that's because they want this deal to be done before they make another deal involving a striker — hi, Mirko Vucinic; hi, Fabio Quagliarella — moving away from the club.

While, at least on this end of things from afar, deals involving the latter two are just a bunch of talk amongst the Italian media, the Osvaldo deal is just a few medical examinations from taking place and being officially official. Get hyped, folks. Those Osvaldo jerseys will be available to buy at the Juventus online store before you know it.
