There's no rest for weary. Or, in this case, there's no rest for Juventus. Less than 24 hours after their 1-1 draw against Inter at the San Siro, Antonio Conte and his squad were on the move again, taking to their air and traveling to Denmark for their Champions League opener against FC Copenhagen on Tuesday night.
With that comes the names Conte has called up for the voyage to the north, with 21 players being called up by the Juventus manager. The list is as follows:
Buffon
Chiellini
Ogbonna
Pogba
Vucinic
Tevez
De Ceglie
Giovinco
Peluso
Llorente
Barzagli
Bonucci
Padoin
Pirlo
Asamoah
Vidal
Lichtsteiner
Quagliarella
Storari
Isla
Citti
No real surprises — even though I'm pretty sure everybody, like myself, is in mourning because Marco Motta wasn't included in the match squad. But don't fret, kiddies, our favorite right back made the trip to Denmark with the rest of the squad, according to Juventus' official website, so we all know he still exists.
Claudio Marchisio stays home in Turin as he continues to recover from the knee injury he suffered in the Supercoppa victory over Lazio in early August. Marchisio, who was declared out for just about a month, is aiming for a return some time in the next week to 10 days.
The same goes for Martin Caceres and Simone Pepe, who each had their own injury setbacks during the course of the last seven days or so. And don't forget about Rubinho, whose No. 3 goalkeeper spot has been taken by primavera shot stopper Leonardo Citi for the time being.
