Champions League Game Time Thread: Juventus vs. Bayern Munich

THE CHAMPIONS!!!!

Claudio Villa

The day has arrived. Juventus are in Germany and there's no turning back now. The marquee matchup we've all been waiting for since the Champions League quarterfinal draw is here at last.

PLEASE BE A GOOD RESULT PLEASE BE A GOOD RESULT PLEASE BE A GOOD RESULT.

Okay, now that I've gotten that out of my system, we shall move on to the real reason we're here.

Much like the round of 16 against Celtic, Juve are on the road to begin their latest European adventure. Munich's the place. Bayern's the opposition. You all know that by now. If not, maybe you've got a little time before kickoff to do some reading? I dunno. Just an idea.

Yet here we are. Juventus is back in the quarterfinals of the Champions League after nearly a decade of being on the outside looking in. And while the previous eight European games were no easy task, this is where the ultimate tests really begin. The final eight sounds nice, but "semifinalists" sounds even better.

So, what will it be? I'm guessing in about two hours we'll (hopefully) have a better idea of what the return leg in Turin will be like next week. But it could just be completely up in the air after the first 90 minutes and our heart rates could go into uncharted territory when the two teams step onto the Juventus Stadium pitch next Wednesday. You just never know. The Champions League can be a wonderful thing or just a cruel, cruel mistress. Either or. There's no middle point at this stage of the game.

But let's just worry about that when we have to, okay? Okay. Good idea.
