Seeing as Simone Pepe basically came out and said that he was going in for another surgery mere days ago, this announcement isn't all that surprising. But at the same time, seeing such a fan favorite deal with another injury setback is sad to see.
But if this means Pepe is healthy come the beginning of pre-season training this summer, then Wednesday's surgery is all for the best. Via Football Italia:
Juventus winger Simone Pepe has undergone surgery to clean up scar tissue in his left thigh and will be out for the rest of the season.
The official club website released a statement confirming he had gone under the knife this evening at the Policlinico San Matteo di Pavia.
The operation removed scar tissue rom an old thigh injury that has prevented him from playing for practically the entire campaign.
The 29-year old managed only 22 minutes of Serie A football this season.
So, he's done for the season. At least Juventus don't subscribe to the "No Pepe, No Party" theory of going about things this season. And despite dealing with yet another surgery, methinks Pepe is in good mood. So happy that he's already taking to the Twitter machine and

At least he's in good spirits, right? Well, it's Simone Pepe, so a smile isn't exactly a rare occurrence.
