Remember the last time Italy played in a World Cup? Well, in case you've chosen to conveniently block it out of your memory like I have, here's a quick refresher on just how much of a faceplant the Azzurri's title defense really was.
2010 - Italy didn't win a single game in 2010 in #SouthAfrica for the first time in their history in the World Cup. Redraft.

Yeah, that's not very good.
Rumor has it Italy's squad will look a lot different than what it did in 2010. We're still working for further confirmation, but inside sources indicate that Italy will be a pretty competitive team come next summer in Brazil.
Okay, so maybe it's not exactly some newfound piece of information that Italy is going to South America with a pretty good squad. I mean, have you seen Giuseppe Rossi play at all this season? Now that's a pretty good player! Get him in any kind of form heading into the summer and the Azzurri could be in pretty good shape.
Either way, Italy's first step in trying to get back to where it should be begins today when the draw for the 2014 FIFA World Cup One thought: Just avoid some kind of group of death. That'd be nice, Italy.
If you haven't already, check it SB Nation's pretty little World Cup draw preview. It's awfully nice to look at. They're also hosting a little show during the draw on the main page if you feel so inclined to watch!
Or you can just hang out around these parts. I'm sure there should be something to talk about today. Just don't know what yet. I'll get back to you on that.
