Game Time Thread: Juventus vs. Atalanta

Marco Luzzani

Juventus vs. Atalanta is the final game of the calendar year for both clubs. It's the final Sunday in 2013 in what has been quite an interesting season thus far. So there's only one thing to do when you're this close to a brand new year — play one last game before you get a little break to spend with the family.

Well, not so fast.

There's still some business to take care of. Holiday business. 'Tis the season after all.

Now that we've got that out of the way, we can continue towards today's main focus.

Juventus carry an eight-game winning streak into Bergamo. And not just a winning streak, but also one hell of a shutout streak, one of the best in Gigi Buffon's career. It's at 730 minutes, to be exact. But who's counting, right? Well, maybe a couple of people are. Considering what Buffon has done thus far, that must say something about how well the defense is playing.

Keep the shutout streak going, have a pretty darn good chance of throwing up a ninth straight victory up on the board. Pretty easy, ain't it?

I can dig that. No doubt about it. Being up by five points at the very least heading into the winter break will have quite a nice ring to it. Bring it home, fellas.
