Game Time Thread: Juventus vs. Napoli

Valerio Pennicino

Sometimes on the Juventus website, they have Antonio Conte donning a smile when they recap his pre-match press conferences. He's presumably in a good mood, ready to answer questions from everybody in the media no matter what they've said about Juve during the last few days.

There was no such smile before the pre-match presser on Saturday. It was Serious Conte to the absolute max. And I am pretty sure why he's so locked in and focused — Napoli's coming to town. Just read what he had to say on Saturday..

"Every match is worth three points and to win the league you need to play each one as if it's the game of your life. As always, I hope the team who plays the best brand of football wins tomorrow. Both sides want to dictate the game and neither will settle for a draw."

When your manager says you should play "as if it's the game of your life," then you know he means business. And if Conte is raring to go, then you know he's going to try his damnedest to make sure it carries over to the players.

That means when Juventus hosts Napoli in just a matter of minutes, it won't be just two teams with the same amount of points through 11 games so far. The atmosphere within Juventus Stadium will be bonkers and will probably leave thousands of ears ringing hours after the game actually ends — as it should be.

And their last six games? They look a lot alike. A lot, a lot.

Juventus: W-W-L-W-W-W

Napoli: W-W-L-W-W-W

Something's got to give, right?

Oh how I hope Juve play like they did on Tuesday night. That'd be pretty damn cool if you ask me.
