In the grand scheme of things, this one likely won't be the greatest performance Juventus will put in this season. Hell, it certainly isn't even close to how things went in last year's season opener against Parma in terms of complete domination.
However, when it was a said and done, Juventus beat Parma in the first game of the year at Juventus Stadium — again. Stephan Lichtsteiner scored the opening goal of the season — again. Juventus won in Serie A — again.
That's is totally okay in my book. Make it 40 games undefeated in the league.
There was no serious Juventus Ex Effect going on. Sure, Antonio Mirante saved a penalty, but it's not like it was some kind of spectacular save or anything like that. Poorly taken, equally poor result. But it didn't come back to haunt Juventus, as they pushed forward in the second half. Just look at how much further up both wing-backs were playing. It was much more like what we're used to seeing.
Can we just figure out how to take penalties properly? That would be fantastic. And, if possible, make it happen as soon as possible, boys. Thanks.
And prayer circle for Sebastian Giovinco. Please don't be seriously hurt, lil fella.
Man of the Match for me: This guy. He was absolutely phenomenal on the left wing. His assist on Lichtsteiner's opener was brilliant. While I'm obviously a member of #TeamDeCeglie, there's no reason why Kwadwo Asamoah shouldn't be starting right now. Forever #BOH.
There's still plenty to improve upon. But hey, I'll take the three points.
