Another day brings another addition to the Juventus Offside family. John has been working the phones like a madman, doing his best Beppe Marotta imitation while juggling the daily rigors of everyday life in New Jersey.
Earlier this week, John and my representatives — otherwise known as Myself & Myself Inc. — were able to come to terms on a deal. So here I am!
If you have consistently been around these parts for the last year or two, you probably know who I am already. That’s good for you, takes out part of the mystery.
For those of you who don’t, my name is Danny otherwise known by my handle on here, djp4cal. I’m probably best known for the regular sarcastic caps lock posts that you all see on here.
Now you’re probably thinking, “What? They let this whacko write here?” Yeah, they did.
What you might not know about me is that outside of the comment section, I’m an actual sports writer. It’s what I went to college to study and now, as I’m in my mid-20s, it’s something I’ve been paid to do since September of 2010, working for a small daily newspaper in Northern California.
(And, yes, small-town newspapers do still exist in the Untied States. The industry is not totally dead just yet.)
I’ve been a Juventino for the past decade. Being a former goalkeeper, it was our beloved San Gigi who drew me to the club. And as they say, the rest is history. It turned into a complete obsession. Just ask my parents, they wonder why I spend so much money on new Juve gear at the beginning of every season and wake up at insane hours of the morning to watch games live some weekends.
If you are on Twitter, feel free to follow me at @djp4cal. And if you’re lucky, I might even follow you back! Wouldn’t that be nice?
One other thing: Just because I am now an official writer on here, that doesn’t mean the caps die off. You have been warned. Don’t fall into the chasm.
