Heading to the Barbera is definitely not something you want to do in general, especially not when you’re in poor form. Palermo has won the last six games at home and will look to continue the recent downward pressure on the Bianconeri. Newcomers Alessandro Matri and Andrea Barzagli will be thrown into fire on Wednesday as Bonucci is suspended and Martinez could be better served splitting some minutes with Milos.
All eyes will most certainly be on our last transfer acquisition, Alessandro Matri. With eleven goals so far this season with Cagliari, one could quickly say that he’s an incredibly big upgrade from that guy who plies his trade with Parma for now. But the truth is it all depends on what his service was like with the Rossoblu, and how it will differ in Torino. The good news is, after Amauri, there’s no way it can get any worse.
Matri will wear the same number 32 he wore at Cagliari. Hopefully that’s a good omen and his hot-hand continues here on the mainland. Check out Jeremy over at the Cagliari Offside for his take on the deal, plus he’s good for a recap after the game every once and a while. Check the comments section below for some links, and an unfortunate spat or two perhaps.
"In football anything is possible. Even third and second… It all depends on how the others do and us too. Now it's time to change the trend. Juve can't play well for six months and then forget about itself. I don't believe that there has been an involution. He (Matri) will definitely play tomorrow. We now have a natural centre-forward who can give us a big hand." -Del Neri
IERI... OGGI... DOMANI... SEMPRE JUVE!!!
