♦ Will he stay, or will he go? Trezeguet’s ten-year relationship with Juventus might finally come to an end this summer after his latest decision to "step back" from wearing the captain’s armband in the Bianconeri’s first pre-season match against the Trentino Amateurs. Photos and more news after the jump.

Del Neri then explained why the decision was made just before kick-off to give Nicola Legrottaglie the captain's armband instead of Trezeguet. “It was a choice made by the team in favour of Nicola after David's step back.”

However, after his two goal performance in said pre-season friendly, Del Neri is apparently changing the board’s mind on selling David before his contract runs out after next year, according to Trezeguet’s agent. Napoli is the supposed front-runners.

♦ One non-EU player per season shifts attention on Wolfburg’s Dzeko. “Forced to choose between Krasic and Dzeko due to the limit on non-EU players, we are focusing our attention on Edin Dzeko and counting on the fact that he wants to join us,” director general Marotta told Tuttosport newspaper. Reports suggest the price tag is upwards of €30 million.

♦ Diego will most likely be played as a second striker this season, in a 4-4-2 formation. Great news, now Giovinco doesn’t have to leave and no more flip-flopping systems mid-season either.

Diego must be free to roam the final third, as he can play easily as a support for a lone centre-forward or as a trequartista behind two strikers. Diego is a very different player to Cassano, as I feel he is tactically similar to Doni,” insisted Del Neri in Saturday’s press conference.

Quite aside from tactics, the important thing is to have the right mentality. Every player must work for the team and not as an individual. This squad needs certainty at every level and once I’ve chosen a system, we will not change it.

♦ Moratti was handed a three-month ban on Saturday for communicating with Genoa’s owner, who was suspended from any decision-making powers at that time, about Diego Milito and Thiago Motta last year. Did someone say, ‘slap on the wrist’?

♦ Also, the players have selected their jersey numbers for 2010-2011. Giovinco changed his from 20 to 14 and Sissoko from 22 to 5. From the newcomers, 2 went to Motta, 19 Bonucci, 20 Lanzafame, 23 Pepe, 25 Martinez and 32 to Storari. Here's the complete list.
