Summer drawing to an end, Serie A Looming.....

A little late here but it was a hectic week, in all of the Beckham mania the football world is heating up, not only here in the states but abroad, the EPL, Ligue 1 and the Bundesliga are in full swing, Champions League qualifying is drawing to its final stages, La Liga and of course SERIE A are about to get underway, and not to mention critial EURO 2008 qualifiers are approaching. Im still very impressed by the crowd last night for Red Bull NY vs Beckham's Hollywood, 65,000 + for an MLS match is tremendous, they put on a fast past goal scoring frenzy of a match and bandwagon fans were rewarded. My cousin was at the game and said he left early because he couldnt deal with all the little kids and screaming girls, and hearing the redundant fucking phrase of "BEND IT LIKE BECKHAM" wow I'd kill myself if I had to deal with that.

Enough of the nonsense lets get down to business, the Bianconeri also had a busy week, Trofeo TIM and Trofeo Burlesconi. We lost both, but who care's, Ranieri's men had a good showing and continue to improve, the usual Del Piero was impressive and continues to make it known he is a presence to be reckoned with. In the Trofeo TIM we tied 0-0 with that team from Milano who claimed to have won the scudetto last season, then we lost in penalty kicks. Iaquinta played well and created chances but could not seal the deal. The following match we were beaten by a Gilardino goal and lost to Milan 1-0. Palladino's goal was called back and thats all she wrote. Next up was the Trofeo Burlesconi, in which we fell 2-0 to Milan. No big deal, the team continues to improve and Ranieri has been pleased overall.

National teams take over this week, and like always Juventus' roster will be depleated......
Of courser Buffon and Del Piero for the Azzurri, Criscito for the under 21's along with Giovinco, De Ceglie, and Marchisio. Newcomers Andrade and Tiago get the nod for Portugal, Grygera for the Czech Republic, and then of course the french, Zebina, Trezegol, and yes......... Boumsong? wow not only is Domenech a prick and a liar he is also wicked retarded. I dont know what is more exciting Domenech calling up Boumsong and not being able to cope with the World Cup Loss by making up lies, or Nicole Richie having a baby.

Excellent news on another front the Primavera squad taking place in the Malaysia cup have done extremely well, they beat Paris St. German, tied Barcellona and Qatar in the group stage, then beat INTER 2-0 in the quarter finals, beat Milan 2-1 in the semis and fell to Man U 1-0. Second place for Chiarenza's youngsters is very honorable, especialy since this was an experimental squad and relatively inexperienced. I'll hope to find highlights as soon as possible........

As im writing this, Roma and inter are getting underway, the atmosphere seems great and a positive for the start of the season, best of luck to Roma today........
